Is it really free? What's the catch?

Yes, AI Mayak is free: no sign-up, no paid plans, nothing for sale. AI assistants themselves have free and paid plans, and Claude Code comes only with paid Claude plans. Current prices are on the What's current page, which we check every month. There is no official certificate. You can mark lessons as done (the marks stay in your browser only) and print a commemorative diploma from the My progress page; nobody checks or verifies it.

I'm not a tech person. Can I still do this?

Yes. The first lessons run in your browser and the first one takes about 30 minutes; you only need an email for a free Claude account. The Use and Earn paths don't assume any programming skills. Some later lessons show code that you ask Claude to write, and the Build path brings in installation and code step by step.

Will AI take my job?

For most jobs on our map, AI changes the work rather than removing it: of 100 professions, 78 are changing, 14 are new roles and 8 are shrinking. Type your job to see what AI takes over and what stays with you. We don't predict your personal future.

Can I trust what AI tells me?

Not blindly. AI can state wrong facts with confidence and even invent sources. The course builds one habit: AI drafts, you decide. You learn to ask for sources, open them and catch typical mistakes. In health, law and money, AI supports a licensed professional and does not replace one.

Is my data safe? What shouldn't I paste into AI?

Never paste passwords, card numbers, your Social Security number or other people's private documents. Each assistant has a privacy setting that controls whether your chats are used to train its models, and the What's current page shows where to find it. The first lesson includes a short list of what never to share.

ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini: which one should I use?

Start with the one you already have: all three have a free plan. One lesson compares them task by task. Our examples use Claude because later lessons build on Claude Code, but asking well and checking answers works the same in any chat assistant.

Can I really make money with AI?

We don't promise income. The Earn path shows the actual work: choosing a niche, putting together a service, setting a price, working out your break-even point and finding first clients. Results depend on your niche, your market and your effort, not on a secret method.

Who runs AI Mayak? Is it made by Anthropic?

No. AI Mayak is an independent project, not affiliated with Anthropic or any other AI company. We teach Claude Code and compare it with other tools openly. Nothing is sold on the site. Catalog entries show the month they were last checked, and prices live on one page that we review every month.
