Business folder structure for working with AI

Folders · Instructions and skills Free Checked: October 2026

A folder tree where both you and an AI agent can quickly find what you need.

What it is

A structure for Google Drive, Dropbox or a folder on your computer that Claude Code or another agent works in. Numbering sets the order, a "start here" folder gives context, AI drafts are kept apart from what's published, and customers' personal data stays out of the shared folder. The CLAUDE.md template builds on this structure.

Rules:
1. File names: YYYY-MM-DD-topic.md, lowercase, no spaces. Example: 2026-10-04-launch-plan.md
2. One fact lives in one file. You change prices only in 01-offer/; every other document points there.
3. Originals with customers' personal data don't go in here, only anonymized copies.
4. AI writes to drafts/ and 07-tasks/; you move work into published/ and 01-offer/ after you review it.
5. Once a month: move outdated items to archive/ and update 00-start-here/.
