Perplexity

What it is

Perplexity is part search engine, part AI chat: every answer comes with links to its sources. It offers Deep Research for working through a topic, Computer for multistep tasks (for Pro and Max subscribers) and the Comet browser with a built-in assistant, free for everyone since October 2025. Plans: Free, Pro ($20 a month) and Max ($200). It's a good fit for gathering facts, analyzing competitors and testing hypotheses.
